What do you think of liberal eugenics and transhumanism?

Liberal eugenics is the idea of promoting a better gene pool at the consumer level rather than through government intrusion. Transhumanism is the idea that humanity is at an evolutionary transition and we should be open to allowing humanity to evolve and change in both behavior and ability. What do you think of these philosophies?
