How do I survive in a toxic work enviroment?

Today I was written up for yelling at another employee and calling them a name. I can't say I didn't deserve it however there is a lot more to it than that. This employee talks daily about having a side job selling stolen goods. They brag about how much money it brings in and make fun of us "poor" people. They have even talked about abusing their child. The work place does nothing about this or many other negative things like bullying. When during the write up I brought up to my boss what brought about me yelling at this employee and calling them a name I was instantly yelled at (one of the things I was written up for was yelling. That's pretty ironic) and told that if these comments or any others were not directed at me I should ignore them. Pushing the issues led to more yelling from my boss so I just shut up. How do you survive in a place like this long enough to find a new job, especially in this economy?
